Oh... so seems that the django version is not too old to be useless, but too new, right?

I missed that part, it is somewhat strange this kind of API handling, and furthermore the deprecation of stuff in new releases is somewhat difficult to track for other projects to follow :(

I see two (both ugly) solutions:
- Ask to django developers to provide a more stable API (what is the benefit of providing a such unstable API?)
but I'm sure they have their *strong* arguments for doing it
-ask pootle people to embed django in their source code (I know debian disallow this kind of embedded libraries, unless there is a *good* reason to do it, and this one might be a good reason, or not?)
