I've complied the whole thing, and is running on a system side-by-side
with Libav. I intend over the next few months to add two to three more
systems, to test both nightly & stable, side-by-side with Libav.

Nothing there yet, just getting started on Launchpad [2] [3]

So, I think we are on the same page, along with many others. (from
various forum comments calling for the return of FFmpeg).
