Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

Hi,

as announced last week, I'd like to find a new maintainer for asio.

The package description is:
asio is a cross-platform C++ library for network programming that provides
developers with a consistent asynchronous I/O model using a modern C++
approach. It has recently been accepted into Boost.

The prospective new maintainer will need significant C++ skills, given
that this is a header-only library (i.e. templates and inline
functions) with lots of preprocessor use.

There are currently two open bugs, both of which require changes to the
actual code.

As the package also exists within Boost (albeit in a different
namespace), it may be worth considering creating a metapackage that
pulls in the required packages from Boost and redirects the namespace
appropriately; this should of course be coordinated with upstream.

   Simon
