Sounds great. I'd suggest uploading it to Mentors and I'll have a look. If everything is fine, I can upload it and we'll see whether it will pass the wizards at the NEW queue ;).
If there's really an issue with the license, the package will get rejected in the worst case. But since the package has been in Debian before, I think chances are good it would be accepted into non-free again.
