The package zram-config has been added to Ubuntu which works pretty well. http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?suite=all&searchon=names&keywords=zram-config I've even added a script to my Android phones. http://kennystechtalk.blogspot.com/2013/09/configuring-zram-on-sony-xperia-play.htmlIt should be fairly easy to implement and is very useful. The Ubuntu script no doubt can be used.
