Mainly because I thought it can be useful for users without root access to ask for a package to be installed. It certainly is trivial (I won't deny that), but AFAIK there's nothing like this in the archive (if there is, please tell me so).
Of course, I can understand this may not be "big" enough for its own package. If so, no problem and thanks for your review.
