Bottleneck is a collection of fast implementations of NumPy array functions
(e.g. median, nanmedian) written in Cython.

Fresh release of Pandas has bottleneck as an optional dependency.

Beware that author since few days ago included pre-generated .c files into his
GIT and source distribution.
