What relation has this software, if any, with pads? Please check out http://packages.debian.org/pads
It would be good to add information in the description of wether this is a fork or something else.

This program passively listens to network traffic and gathers
information on hosts and services it sees on the network.
This information can be used to map your network, letting you know
