Bug#620415: RFP: ich7-gpio -- linux kernel module to control LEDs via ICH7 chipsets found on some NAS units

Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name    : ich7-gpio
  Version         : 0.2011.01.03-1
  Upstream Author : John Cronin <johncronin@scifa.co.uk>
* URL             : https://github.com/jncronin/ich7_gpio

  Programming Lang: C
  Description : linux kernel module to control LEDs via ICH7 chipsets found on some NAS units

Thecus NAS units like the n5500 contain LEDs that are controlled via
the ICH7. This Linux kernel module allows direct control of the LEDs
via /sys/class/leds

See also the discussion here:

Note: if there are better ways to control these LEDs than this kernel
module, then this WNPP bug report can be closed without fixing it. I
just want an easy way for these systems to be able to signal their
state through built-in indicators.
