Hi Bernd,Did you consider SASS as alternative for LESS? It is considered by some (inlcuding me) as superior to LESS.

Sass is packaged already for Debian as libhaml-ruby1.8, as is the (limited, so far) Perl implementation Text::Sass as libtext-sass-perl.
Beware that Joey is keen on keeping the code Perl-only for speed reasons (e.g. he didn't like my request to support the Pandoc Markdown parser).
In fact, I packaged Text::Sass specifically with the intend of looking into convincing Joey Hess to use integrate it into Ikiwiki, so I would looove to beta test a plugin you might put together. Perhaps the plugin could use Text::Sass by default, but optionally be configured to use the Ruby implementation instead when the user favor the full features over speed.
