Hi,

Smarty has been orphaned by Moritz recently, but as it seems without 
corresponding O: bug filed.

I'm willing to adopt the package at least for the time being. However, I don't 
have changes to make except cosmetic ones, which I don't think is useful to 
upload into the archive now, considering we have the freeze and such cosmetic 
change may hinder freeze exceptions for possible more important issues in the 
future.

So for now I'm just recording my intent here.
If anyone else is interested, please contact me.
