Package:  wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name    : sssd
  Version         : 1.0.5
  Upstream Author : RedHat

* License         : GPL
  Programming Lang: C, Python, etc.)
  Description : System Security Services Daemon

Provides a set of daemons to manage access to remote directories and
authentication mechanisms. It provides an NSS and PAM interface toward
the system and a pluggable backend system to connect to multiple
different account sources. It is also the basis to provide client
auditing and policy services for projects like FreeIPA.

The package is aimed at providing disconnected operations for a laptop
normally connected to a LDAP and/or Kerberos server.

There are already Ubuntu packages available from
<URL: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sssd >, and I expect them to
be fairly easy to get working on Debian. All the build dependencies
are available in Squeeze, and the package build out of the box. :)
It will need some adjustements, as it provides an upstart job and not
an init.d script, but it should be fairly easy to adjust that.

Happy hacking,
