Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

It was my first package, it has always been the most advanced and well
cared one of mine. I brought it from childhood and it is now a widely
used and respected tool. For long time Debian packages have been the
best, most updated and cared among the huge amount of distributions it
is available for. I had great fun and learned a lot while maintaining it.

But time passes and my interest on curl is getting lower and lower. It
is after a long reflection that I decided it is time to bring it to
someone more careful than me.

I don't think curl needs any presentation. It is a straightforward
package, in the sense it is the usual binary/library/-dev/-dbg package,
but it is a very popular one and users may have contraddictory needs
(see OpenSSL vs GnuTLS). So its maintainer should be a nice leader with
a good sources insight, he/she may not be a hero but some experience
would be helpful.

Daniel, the upstream author, is a great hacker with sharp teeth and
has always crawled the BTS. So, unless you are irresponsabile like me,
you should have great time with him.

Happy hacking,
Domenico

The package description is:
curl is a client to get files from servers using any of the supported
protocols. The command is designed to work without user interaction
 or any kind of interactivity.
 .
curl offers a busload of useful tricks like proxy support, user
authentication, ftp upload, HTTP post, file transfer resume and more.
