You are right, I guess it should be more suitable to say to try to do a
QA release in order to update its status. I was around trying to squeeze
some bugs. In any case, later I saw that here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libavg/+bug/474004
there is a good effort to package the latest version (also with the
support of the upstream developer), so the only thing missing is to
forward the changes when they will be finished back to debian.

Actually I am working in a couple of packages that I use daily, but
since this period I have some extra time I would to get a bit more involved.
