Bug#533112: Status of libhimd

Hello,

I am writing this message just to assure that the project is still
going strong and we have been making alot progress recently. However,
we still don't feel that the software is mature enough for being
packaged for Debian. The main reason is that the HiMD libraries (libhimd)
are still subject to frequent changes so that we cannot yet provide a
stable release.

Since the idea is to keep the library libhimd split from the GUI
application "qhimdtransfer" with the help of a dynamically linked
library, we would eventually end up in dozens of .so.XX versions of
the library due to the frequent changes.

We therefore ask for some more patience. However, anybody is always
free to pull the latest code from git and build and run the software
on Debian. Build instructions specifically for Debian can be found in
our wiki.

Regards,

Adrian
