Bug#543889: pcsc-omnikey -- PC/SC driver for Omnikey Cardman Smartcard

Jamil Djadala a écrit :
Do you have a documentation about this "secure mode"?
What does it provide? How does it work?

Hi,
I use pcsc-omnikey.
When I had smartcard with 1024 bit cert, ccid worked for me, but when my
CA upgrade certs to 2048 bits, ccid stopped to work. I had to switch to
pcsc-omnikey, which works.

So they call "secure mode" 2048 bit operations.

Tell me if you need more/other info or if I can help debugging it?\
Best Regards

2048 bits is 256 bytes. You can retreive more than 255 bytes in a short APDU. For 256 bytes you need to use an extended APDU.

Have a look at [1] to have a description of the problem and a list of readers supporting extended APDU.

I guess "secure mode" is just a marketing term for extended APDU.

Bye
