I was happy to see this ITP, and the fact that a lot of work already has been done at http://git.debian.org/?p=pkg-multimedia/slv2.git I cloned the current 'head' git and it nicely built debs, put them in the lm-squeeze repo at http://repo.linuxmusicians.bzzt.net/debian
