As it turns out, I was finishing it up and pushing to
mentors.debian.net yesterday. Most of the waiting was for concordance
to be accepted in Debian/Ubuntu so that dependencies would be there.

Wish I could. Sadly, I'm also somewhat of a beginner in this. I know
my way around packaging better and better now, but I'm not a DD, DM,
or Ubuntu MOTU; yet.
I'd still be interested in looking at what you've done to compare,
since it's always good to see how others work to know if I can do
things better :)
I'm open to options such as co-maintaining the package, too. I just
don't know how it can be done unless one of us is a DD or DM.
