Great question!

I have fixed the debian/rules file. I am now doing that as part of the
build.

Eventually, I want to dynamically generate the logo (and get rid of the
dozens of profiles per distro).

To do this, I'm going to need to patch 'screen' itself, to run a %100`
command, and rather than just insert the results as a literal, interpret
any markup returned. In this way, I could grab the distro from the
lsb_release, and dynamically insert the correct logo.

Check out the latest release, and code in bzr.

It should be there now. debian/screen-profiles-extras.install.

Let me know if you have any more questions. I just created a
#screen-profiles irc channel on Freenode.

Cheers,
