Bug#519838: ITP: draai -- A command line music player

Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Joost van Baal <joostvb@debian.org>

* Package name    : draai
  Version         : 20080614
  Upstream Author : Joost van Baal
* URL             : http://mdcc.cx/draai
* License         : GPL v3 or later
  Programming Lang: zsh
  Description : A command line music player

 Draai is a wrapper around mpc, making playing music from the command line more
 enjoyable. mpc is a client for MPD, the Music Player Daemon. Using draai,
 one can play an audio file (ogg, mp3, whatever your MPD offers), play all
 files in a predefined playlist, have a running view with details on current,
 past (using tail) and future (using watch) playing songs, skip to the next
 song, etc.
 .
 The interface is purely command-line. No fancy GUI's whatsoever. Not even
 any curses-like interface. It does have fancy zsh tab completion though. If
 the command line is your preferred user interface, and don't like to learn
 a new set of key bindings, you'll like draai. draai is one of the very few
 minimalistic MPD clients.
 .
 Draai consists of one zsh shell script, calling mpc.
 .
 Next to draai itself, the package installs some extra utilities for dealing
 with audio files.

Currently, a draai Debian package is offered from

 deb http://non-gnu.uvt.nl/debian lenny draai

.

Bye,

Joost
