Wrapper around kio_media_mountwrapper. Provides a progress dialog for Safely 
Removing of devices in KDE.  http://frode.kde.no/misc/kio_umountwrapper/

It is currently in development for the upcoming Ubuntu release.  Additionally 
it is licensed GPL v2.

If someone would be willing to sponsor me I could package this up for Debian.
