Bug#503976: ITP: zfec

Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

Zfec is a high performance Reed-Solomon erasure coding tool. It is sponsored by a small start-up company which releases all of their source code under Free Software licences, with help from random contributors around the 'Net. It is written in C and comes with C, Python, and Haskell APIs as well as a command-line tool. The core erasure code implementation is copied from Luigi Rizzo's long- standing "fec" library [1] and simplified and optimized.

The project web site, trac, etc. is at http://allmydata.org/trac/ zfec . Version control is darcs -- get the current HEAD of the project with

darcs get http://allmydata.org/source/zfec/trunk

The copyright is owned by allmydata.com. The source code is released under your choice of licences: GPL 2 or greater at your option, or the Transitive Grace Period Public Licence v1. This TGPPLv1 is intended to be a Free Software licence, but it has not been reviewed by Debian legal. The statement of "your choice of licences" is in this file:

The text of the TGPPLv1 is in this file:
