The problem is that I *can't* specify additional '-i' arguments to 
'dpkg-source'; the man page explains “There can only be one active 
regexp, of multiple -i options only the last one will take effect.”

I'd love to be able to tell 'dpkg-source' to ignore an *extra* file 
glob in addition to what it normally ignores, but that's not 
supported. So, rather than replace the default massive regular 
expression with a  slightly-more-massive fragile regular expression, I 
wait for the default to be updated. (The patch is accepted, but is 
pending release.)
