The X extension is called RandR. "xrandr" only refers to the command
line tool, "XRandR" does not exist.

I don't understand this last sentence. Is there a dot missing somewhere?
Or you're confusing what the RandR extension does?
RandR 1.2 supports any type of output. I just depends on the underlying
X driver. If the driver is able to support the HDMI-0 output (some
already do), it will appear as usual in RandR 1.2 tools, and I don't see
why lxrandr wouldn't see it. However, I don't know how lxrandr decides
which outputs is a LCD panel and which one is a TV output, you should be
aware that the output names highly depend on the driver. For instance,
see section II.2 of http://wiki.debian.org/XStrikeForce/HowToRandR12
