Bug#471971: RFP: pytagfs -- mapping media files to an arbitrary directory structure

Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

Package name : pytagfs
Version : 0.5.0
Upstream Author : Forest Bond <forest@alittletooquiet.net>
URL : http://www.pytagfs.org/
License : GPL2
Programming Lang: Python
Description : mapping media files to an arbitrary directory structure

pytagsfs is a FUSE filesystem that was designed to present multiple views
of tagged media files. For instance, a directory tree containing audio
files could be mapped to a new directory structure organizing those same
files by album, genre, release date, etc.

This is really cool: I tend to use ogg123/mpg123 to listen to
music, because... I don't know, I'm used to the command line or
whatever. However, audio player applications such as exaile or
rhythmbox are much more advanced in organising music files. Now
I use pytagfs to sort everything by genre etc. on the file
system level and can basic command line players for the noise.

Note: This package needs python-sclapp. Both pytagfs and
python-sclapp (which is GPL2 + one file Python license) are
already packaged by Forest Bond for Ubuntu. The packages build
and work cleanly in Debian unstable, with only some trivial to
fix lintians. All other dependencies are already in Debian.
