I think packaging CAS is a fine idea and certainly have no objections, but
if you're still in the evaluation stage for a web authentication system,
you may want to also look at WebAuth, which is already packaged for
Debian.

comparison of features (which alas doesn't include details about CASv2,
since the last time I looked I couldn't find any useful documentation --
this may be better now).
