It was created from TargetJr and the IUE with the aim of making a light, fast and consistent system. VXL is written in ANSI/ISO C++ and is designed to be portable over many platforms. Please see the VXL website for more information. http://vxl.sourceforge.net/ The license is available from here: http://vxl.cvs.sourceforge.net/vxl/vxl/core/vxl_copyright.h?revision=HEAD I'd like to package this library as a dependency for an upcoming package of Freesurfer (first open source release in the very near future). http://surfer.nmr.mgh.harvard.edu/ If anyone is already using this library or has experience with it: Co-maintainers are very welcome! Due to the fact that the ITK package in Debian contains significant parts of VXL already and my currently limited time, I think it is reasonable to close this ITP. I will not remove the package from mentors.d.n (at least until it is auto-cleaned there -- if ever). Whoever wants to take over: please do.
