There have never been any non-free bits :-)

There was an issue with some NSIS code whose copyright wasn't clarified, that
got resolved (there was a mail from you in debian-boot about this, can't find
it now).

Then there are three components that will be included in the source package and
not automaticaly built from source. All them will be eventualy sorted out, but
for now it means the package will be in contrib. I summarise them here:

  - System.dll (from NSIS) can't be built without using propietary software
(see bug #319999). My package takes the binary from official NSIS .zip.

  - wget.exe can't be built from unmodified wget sources, and given that it's
only needed temporarily untill we solve #412285, I didn't want to bother
its maintainer about adding cruft to build it.

  - grub4dos is not in debian. Since I grub4dos is based on GRUB Legacy,
which is deprecated, I don't want to add a new package for something that
ought to disappear anyway. I expect that GRUB 2 will meet the requisites
so that the unmodified upstream version can be used instead.

It's a deb now, but I can switch it if that's more convenient. I'm not
familiar with BYHAND, isn't it a nuissance for ftp-masters? Also, can you
give an example of BYHAND package so that I can have a look and see how it
works?
