Package: wnpp This project has been unmaintained upstream for quite a while, and I don't have time to take over upstream maintenance. latex-ucs is a LaTeX package which allows you to use a very broad range of UTF-8 Unicode characters in your LaTeX documents. It automatically translates them into the respective LaTeX commands. A large subset of this functionality is now present in LaTeX proper, but if you need some less common characters such as hyphen (U+2010) or ◇ (U+25C7), or less common character sets like Klingon (provided in latex-ucs), you still need latex-ucs. For maintaining this package you need some decent experience with LaTeX commands (it's not necessary to be a guru, though).
