Bug#420013: "closing" it.

retitle 420013 RFP: mmsrip -- client for the mms:// protocol
thanks

I'm leaving this one because the upstream author says it's dead, and packaging
it would be just loss of time:

Hi Nicolas,
I've proposed to package your mmsrip for Debian (see Debian BTS [1]).
A guy answered me that, looking at the source code, he saw various
possible security-related problems and other bugs. He suggested to use
libmms and, if your mmsrip uses other functionalities, implement them
into libmms (that's not your work, though).
So I'm just informing you about this: you could "patch" mmsrip so that
it uses libmms. I'm trying to do this: in fact, I'm looking for the
various functions libmms provides.
As soon as I get some results I'll inform you.

The actual package (0.7.0-1) is available at [2].

Cheers,
David

Hi,

Thanks for your interest in mmsrip.
As someone explained in the bugtracker, mmsrip is based on the code of
mmsclient, juste like mimms used to be.

I already corrected some security flaws a long time ago, I am not aware
of any new one. Anyway, mmsrip is not being developed anymore, packaging
it is a kind of a waste of time.

Greetings,
Nicolas.

That's why I'm retitling it to a RFP and setting "noowner".

Cheers,
David
