please always write to the specific bug report
($some_number@bugs.debian.org), otherwise your message is likely to be lost.

hm? the modules source package needs to remain a source only package in
order to build the modules for a specific kernel.

unreltated to that, you may want to have prebuild binaries for the
debian kernel flavours, if so, read this[0] and write a wishlist bug
report against linux-modules-contrib-2.6.
