libkdcraw is currently work in progress as is the long description ;)

 Libkdcraw is a C++ interface around dcraw binary program used to
 decode Raw picture files.

SVN version of kipi-plugins is using libkdcraw already.  Digikam
will use it after 0.9.1 is released (End of Feb 2007).  The library
was born due to the endless frustration and trouble because almost
every new dcraw release broke the CLI API and therefore digikam
and kipi-plugins.
