Hi Faidon,

the situation is as follows:
I have preliminary packages sitting here on my hard disk. Though they
are not yet polished enough for an upload. There are some open issues so
I decided to not upload before etch.
First, there is no officially released tarball, which is blessed by
upstream to work with 0.6.4, only the CVS branch for NM 0.6. There were
some breakages in NM between 0.6.3 and 0.6.4 which resulted in broken
VPN plugins. As I don't have access to an openvpn gateway atm I couldn't
test the packages.
My overall impression was, that the VPN plugins are not very mature yet,
so I hesitated to upload them for etch.
If you are willing to maintain the package properly, I say, go for it.
If you want, we can give you access to the Alioth Debian-Utopia SVN repo
and maintain the package collaborativly as the other network-manager
packages.
Just give me a chance to look at your current package, so I can see if
they fit into the current packaging scheme of NM.
