Bug#393753: Commercial demo in Debian?

Hi Jason,

I've changed the mailing and CC list on this email thread so that it goes
directly to me; please keep it this way, as our 'info@codeweavers.com'
email goes to a ticket system, and it'll be a bit hard to avoid having
the Debian bug tracker get spammed with bad emails.

I am happy to work with the Debian project to make this happen; we
can write a specific license to allow this, and would even be
willing to provide Debian specific packages for this purpose.

However, I have a great deal of respect for Debian software policies,
and CrossOver is a commercial product, so I will certainly understand
if that precludes its inclusion in Debian.

The bottom line from my perspective is that we are happy to have
a time limited trial version of our software spread far and wide,
but we do request that people be encouraged to purchase a license
if they wish to use it further. The heart and soul of what we do,
and all of our energy, is already poured back into the Wine project,
which is a Free project, readily available to all users. The
nice packaging around CrossOver is our means of encouraging people
to support our efforts; we literally put food on our tables as
a result of that support, so it is extremely important to us.

Cheers,
