I cannot maintain malaga any longer, and don't use it anymore myself.
It is a nifty program and someone should pick it up.  Note that there
is a more recent version at
http://home.arcor.de/bjoern-beutel/malaga/.

Upstream does maintain this package and is responsive to questions.
