Feel free to lift the code from debsecan or the secure-testing
archive. Be warned that the ed-patching code is more or less a
proof-of-concept (but it's been in use on idssi.enyo.de for quite some
time without any problems).
The pure Python Version currently does not implement ~ versions, for
lack of a clear specification. It's safer to go with python-apt,
especially if you need to deal with broken version numbers present on
many Debian installations (earlier debsecan versions were bitten by
this).
