I am reopening this bug report although there not has been much activity
on this package in the last times.  The Debian package already exists and
is available in the Debian Octave Group web site
(http://pkg-octave.alioth.debian.org).

The package has not yet been uploaded to unstable or exprimental because
I need to sort out some issues with the upstream author. 

I wish this bug report to remain open, such that people know that there is
already a preliminary Debian package available.
