As upstream author of the package I noticed that compiling and installing of the software by users seems to be an obstacle to use this software. Therefore I am very interested in providing (and maintaining) the binary package. The motivation fo rchoosing Debian is because I am convinced that Debian is the most reliable GNU/Linux distro available, regarding from a technological point of view and, most of all, because of its open-source and open-minded policy, without depending on corporate interests.
