I've already attempted to do so a couple of times.  The current upstream
(Herbert) is using GPL for his modifications to the libsocket++ code.
The problem is with the code the original upstream author wrote.  His
contact info is out of date and I have yet to get a response from
Herbert about this issue or whether he has up-to-date contact info for
the original upstream.
