Bug#345017: ITP: graphicsmagick -- collection of image processing tools
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name : graphicsmagick

Description : collection of image processing tools
GraphicsMagick provides a set of command-line applications, as well as
libraries in several programming languages to manipulate image files
across various file formats. It is a fork of the ImageMagick project
and therefore offers a similar set of features, but puts a larger
emphasis on stability.
Interface instability of ImageMagick has been a recurring problem for
the Debian package and its reverse dependencies. GraphicsMagick was
forked to address this very issue with a different development process.
Both variants usually coexist nicely because they use different names
for libraries, applications, and header locations. Optional
compatibility packages will provide the necessary symlink and wrapper
magic to make GraphicsMagick more of a drop-in replacement for
ImageMagick.
Regards,
Daniel.
