Sponsoring a package means sponsoring each upload: checking, telling
mistakes, re-checking, [...], uploading. That often requires more time
than just maintaining the package. Things get worse if the sponsoree is
unreliable or loses interest.
Well, I will take a look at your package if you do not use debhelper and
keep patches separated in debian/patches.

qgo would be kept in unstable anyway and reenter testing when an RC
bugfixing upload is made.
