Bug#308437: RFP: gnome-sensors-applet -- GNOME Sensors Applet is an applet for the GNOME Panel to display readings from hardware sensors, including CPU temperature, fan speeds and voltage readings under Linux.

Requirements:

GNOME 2.8 desktop environment, with GTK >=2.4.0 and libpanelapplet-2
For i2c support: Linux kernel 2.6 with appropriate i2c modules loaded OR
Linux kernel 2.4 with lm_sensors package installed (libsensors)
For i8k support: Linux kernel 2.6 with i8k module enabled ("Support for Dell laptops" (CONFIG_I8K))

GNOME Sensors Applet is released under the GNU GPL, the current source tree can be browsed here.
Current release: Version 0.7.3
ChangeLog: Added cpu_vid sensor reading to i2c-sys interface.
Fixed bug where icon would not be displayed on the Add to Panel list for GNOME > 2.8 (need to specify full path to icon).
