How does this fit in with java 1.5(from sun, non-free of course), but what about kaffe/gcj/sablevm?
This library from Doug Lea is the _successor_ of java.util.concurrent which is now integrated in java 1.5. Doug Lea had the specification lead for JSR 166: Concurrency Utilities. So the java.util.concurrent package is based on his "old" library which this package provides. The classes in the package are in a different package structure so there is no conflict if using with jdk 1.5. My packages (will be uploaded to pkg-java soon) are working with the free vm's except minor problems (documented in README.Debian) The package is made DFSG compliant by removing several classes from the packages which are derived from sun classes and therefore non-free. A preliminary package will be available soon - and location posted to pkg-java/debian-java list. Does this answer your question ? Regards, Wolfgang
