vt is a general messaging client. Its zephyr client incarnation is
popular among power users. It is heavily configurable, using its own
vtc language, but nearly useless without configuration.

vt has been largely superceded by owl, which is packaged for Debian.
Thus the number of vt users who would benefit from an official Debian
package is small and shrinking.
