Bug#228843: ITP: jasmin - java assembler compiler
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
* Package name : jasmin or jasmin-sable
Version : 1.06 or 1.2
Upstream Author : Jonathan Meyer
* URL : http://mrl.nyu.edu/~meyer/jasmin/
URL alt : http://www.sable.mcgill.ca/software/#soot
* License : GPL2 or LGPL
Description : java assembler compiler
Jasmin is a Java ASseMbler INterface. It takes ASCII descriptions for
Java classes, written in a simple assembler-like syntax and using the
Java Virtual Machine instruction set. It converts them into binary Java
class files suitable for loading into a JVM implementation.
For the ones wondering why the info above ITP looks so strange: there
exists the original jasmin, GPLed, and more actively maintained
jasmin-sable, which is LGPLed (was relicensed at some point by the
original author). There are some issues that I am trying to clear out
now, so cannot say which version will eventually be packaged.
PS: Bcc:ing d-d directly as Evo doesn't allow me to add headers :-(
