Same case here. I'm no DD already, and I don't know if I get through.
But I'm in T&S stage, so another package could be helpful.

Yes I know subversion. And I did prior to the mail to you setup a
repository for Benjamin Herr, the dev I spoke about to maintain ytalk
easier. I could create an account on it for you, of course, but this we
should clear up in private email.
As far the Debian part is concerned. The current package in Debian is
far too old and buggy, it has to be fixed IMO. I would be ok with
co-maintainership as well as you as co-maintainer. That's just a little
issue then. I agree with you on this.
