The reason I'm asking is because Jose Fonseca <j_r_fonseca@yahoo.co.uk> has filed an ITP on scipy (http://bugs.debian.org/126037), for which he has provided a package for f2py, and I'm planning to sponsor his work into the Debian archive. It's probably easier to have both packages maintained by the same person, but maybe you two should agree on how to resolve this.
