Bug#261183: ITP: python-gtk2-doc -- Documentation and API reference of GTK2 bindings for python

Sebastien Bacher wrote:

You should mail the maintainer of a binding before packaging the doc for
this binding. The pygtk API is not that big and I've talked with pygtk
upstream to include it in the release, so it should be a part of the
python-gtk2 source package soon ...

The API-docs (at least those at moeraki.com) are not part of the pygtk2 distribution and they _are_ actually quite big (more then 220 DocBook sources) and there's also the tutorials package which IMHO should be included as well.

Right now I'm trying to generate PDF-files from reference' DocBook sources[1], the PDF-version of tutorial stuff already builds as well as the HTML-versions for both, the tutorial and the reference. So if I manage to build the PDF for reference, we'd have a python-gtk2-doc-html and a python-gtk2-doc-pdf package...

However, if you want the docs to go into python-gtk2 instead of an extra package, then you should wait until the next release of the docs since John Finlay said, that he'd release a bug-fixed version soon... If you'd like to include the tutorial, then please note, that it has a different license then the reference docs...
