Bug#246153: RFA: unison -- file-synchronization tool for Unix and Windows

Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I've not been using unison very much so I'd quite like someone else to
look after it and do what I've had planned for a while. Upstream have
released no new stable versions, but the beta version (2.9.20) has Gtk2
support, so should be made available in sid and hopefully make it into
sarge.

However, each version is protocol incompatible with the other ones, so
in order to retain compatibility with woody I'd ideally have
unison{,-gtk} as transition pseudopackages which always depend on the
latest | previous in stable, maybe containing docs, and then
unison-2.9.{2,20}{,-gtk} which register their
/usr/bin/unison-2.9.x{,-gtk} as alternatives. Or such.

Anyone interested in taking over get in touch. There are no serious
bugs, upstream are very responsive on the unison-users mailing list, and
development is active.

Regards,
Rob
