I've taken a look at your packages and have some sugestions:
* Change ppp0 to $1 at /etc/ppp/ip-*, so that any ppp interface will be
supported by default.
* Add similar files to /etc/network/ip-* (s/$1/$IFACE), to support
automatic enable/disable of other interfaces.
Just my two cents though, and IANADD also.
